FAQ's Hire

  1. What size is the screen? The Ben Hur is 3.65m or 12 ft measured diagonally. 150+ people can easily watch the screen. If you don’t have the room for this size screen we have 2.45m or 8ft screens available as well.
  2. How long does it take to assemble and can I do it myself? Our hire price includes setup and delivery so you sit back and relax. It takes about 5 minutes to inflate the frame and 10 minutes to attach the screen. The AV centre should take less than 10 mins to set up. The whole set up usually takes approx 30 mins.
  3. Can we watch TV on the screen? Yes. The most common method is to use a set top box, although Foxtel or even an old (?) VCR recorder can also be used. Please advise us if you want to use the system this way when booking so we can supply the appropriate connections. We can also supply the hardware (set top box) although this is an additional cost.
  4. Can we connect a PlayStation, Xbox or Wii etc? Yes very easily. Please advise us with your booking so we can supply the appropriate connections. We can also supply the hardware although this is an additional cost.
  5. Do you supply all the plugs and connections I will need? All the plugs and cables for the system are included. Please advise how you will be using the screen so we can supply any additional appropriate connections.
  6. What if it rains and/or there's a storm? Cinemalite has various options should you need to cancel your event. Please contact us for more details.
  7. Will the system blow away in the event of strong winds? No, the screen has the facility to be tied down firmly and secured to the ground.
  8. Do I need a film license? Respecting film copyright is vital for legitimately hosting outdoor cinema events. If you're hosting a backyard movie party (i.e. a private party held at your own home) you don't need a film screening licence. However if you plan to charge an admission fee, and/or stage a movie night in a public place, we strongly recommend that you purchase the appropriate non-theatrical / screening licence. Cinemalite will not purchase the film licence for you, but we can put you in touch with the appropriate parties who will be happy to assist you. The process is quite easy and thousands of movies are available.
  9. Can I use the system during the day? Yes, for indoor use only with minimal lighting.
